James’ love affair with wine began at a young age, when a family visit to a winery sparked a fascination with everything behind the bottle - terroir, history, culture, craft and the people who bring it all to life.

By 18, James was studying WSET as the youngest in his class, eventually bringing that passion to Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. Today, James is pursuing his DipWSET, with his sights set on becoming a Master of Wine.

For James, wine is about more than tasting notes. It’s about places, stories and people - and the simple pleasures of great food, good music, good company and a beautiful glass of wine.

James’ philosophy is simple: “You don’t know good until you’ve had bad, and you don’t know bad until you’ve had good.”

Curious by nature and passionate about making wine more approachable, James loves uncovering the stories and character behind every bottle - from Australia’s vineyards to the great wine regions of the world.
